After an embarrassing Week One loss to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, ESPN’s Paul Finebaum went after the Florida State Seminoles.
Finebaum mentioned in a SportsCenter appearance that the team better call Judge Judy after their brutal start to the 2024 season.
“I kept expecting an attorney to walk out to midfield and slap Ireland or Guinness with a lawsuit,” Finebaum said. “Florida State always finds someone else to blame when things don’t go their way, and we saw that last year when they blamed the media. Then, they started suing their own league, and it was really the worst possible start for a team that so many people expected to make the playoffs.”
On Saturday, the Florida State Seminoles kicked off the 2024 College Football Season in Ireland, taking on Georgia Tech in the Aer Lingus Classic. Unfortunately for FSU, the No. 10 ranking likely won’t stick after their 24-21 loss.
“I realize that’s not over yet, but the way they performed yesterday, especially offensively, this team better call Judge Judy or somebody because I don’t think they’re going to make it,” Finebaum said. “I mean, getting run over by a middle-of-the-road ACC team — it was music to the ears of a lot of Florida State haters.”
In a game in which the Seminoles were favored by upwards of 10 points to win, instead of headlines surrounding the team’s hot start, they focused on transfer quarterback DJ Uiagalelei and his inability to throw the ball down the field.
Regardless, if Judge Judy is the person to call after a rough start to the 2024 season, it’s safe to assume the Noles will be calling sooner rather than later.
