Derek Dixon, a four-star guard in the Class of 2025, cut his list of schools down to six, including the Arizona Wildcats.
The four-star prospect is also considering Pittsburgh, North Carolina, Virginia, Syracuse, and Vanderbilt, according to Joe Tipton.
247Sports ranks the Washington D.C. native as the No. 60 overall prospect in his class.
247Sports’ Dushawn London reported that Dixon is set for an official visit with the Wildcats on Sep. 13-15. The rising senior plans to announce his college commitment on his birthday, which is Sept. 27.
In an interview with 247Sports, Dixon discussed his thoughts on Arizona and stated, “They’re a school I’ve been watching a lot the past couple of years. I really like their play style and guard play. I could see myself fitting in well there. They reached out, and we developed a good relationship.”
The Wildcats are still in search of their first official 2025 commitment after finishing last season with an overall record of 27-9. After departing from the Pac-12, the program will compete in the Big 12 Conference in 2024-25.
Star point guard Caleb Love chose to return for his final season of college basketball after testing NBA Draft waters this offseason.
