The long wait is almost over, and new head coach Charlie Strong can hardly believe his Longhorns are only five days away from their season opener against North Texas.
“Never thought this week would come,” Strong said in his first Monday press conference of the season. “I’m really excited to just see our football team. I told them its all about having fun, playing with energy, playing with emotion and being a total football team.”
Heading into the first week of the season, Strong has been most impressed with his seniors and what they’ve been able to provide as leaders of this team.
“It’s a really good senior class,” Strong said. “We have guys that have been here. I told them ‘when you signed on, it was all about reestablishing the foundation of his program and now you have a chance to do that in your senior year.’”
