We’re a long way from Devonte Fields being named the Big 12′s best defensive player entering 2014.
The former conference player of the year was removed from TCU after a misdemeanor assault charge in connection with an incident involving an ex-girlfriend. Fields attempted to transfer to Stephen F. Austin, but was unable to do so after being kicked out of TCU for honor code violations.
Now, Fields is attempting to resurrect his football career at Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, Texas.
SI.com caught up with the former TCU star this weekend, and things are not looking up for Fields.
