Jakeem Grant involved in off-campus incident, “doing well”

Texas Tech wide receiver Jakeem Grant was injured during an off-campus incident early Sunday morning at El Fronteriso, in the 12000 block of U.S. 87 in Lubbock County.

More than 20 rounds were fired from multiple weapons during an altercation about 1:30 a.m. Sunday, said Lt. Bryan Taylor, a Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson.

“Tech has confirmed that it was one of their football players, but his involvement, I don’t know,” Taylor said. “I don’t know if he was involved in the altercation or if he just caught part of the assault. It’s my understanding that he had a laceration, so it may have been a knife wound. … Anytime you have that many shots fired, people are going to scatter. I don’t know what caused his laceration.”click here
