Will Iowa State Land a No. 1 Seed in the NCAA Tournament? Here’s What Bracketologists are Saying

The Iowa State Cyclones crushed Houston to win the Big 12 Tournament on Saturday night in Kansas City. With the win, the Cyclones finished the season 27-7 with arguably the best win in the country, as they snapped the Cougars’ 11-game winning streak to win their fifth Big 12 Tournament since 2014.
On top of that, North Carolina, a presumptive No. 1 seed, lost the ACC Championship Game to NC State on Saturday night.
So now the question around the Cyclones is whether or not they should be the fourth No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament come Selection Sunday.
Here’s what the top bracketologists are saying as of Sunday morning.
ESPN
ESPN’s Joe Lunardi doesn’t have Iowa State very close. He has ISU listed as the No. 3 2-seed, at No. 7 overall. He has North Carolina as the fourth No. 1 seed.
Lunardi has been consistent with Iowa State in as a two seed for his last several updates, and that did not change on Sunday morning.
CBS Sports
Meantime, CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm has moved Iowa State to the No. 1 seed in the West and bumped North Carolina down to a No. 2 seed. Meantime, Houston is the No. 1 seed in the South, per Palm.
USA Today
USA Today’s final bracketology has Iowa State as a No. 2 seed in the East Regional, where No. 1 seed UConn could be awaiting the Cyclones.
Meantime, Houston would be the No. 1 seed in the South, which is where every Bracketologist has the Cougars heading in the NCAA Tournament.
So now, we just wait and see to learn where exactly the Cyclones will land come Selection Sunday.
The Men’s NCAA Tournament selection show will be on CBS starting at 5 p.m. CT.
