Kansas Lands Michigan State Transfer DE Bai Jobe
Lance Leipold and the Kansas Jayhawks are making waves in the transfer portal after landing their second blue-chip transfer out of the Big Ten in a matter of days.
Michigan State transfer EDGE Bai Jobe announced on Tuesday morning that he will transfer to Lawrence ahead of the 2024 season, giving KU a potentially elite pass rusher for the foreseeable future.
Jobe, listed at 6-foot-4, 252 pounds, was the No. 44 overall player in the 2023 class and the No. 1 player out of the state of Oklahoma.
Jobe spent time training at C4 SportsPerformance, a training facility in southern Oklahoma that has helped produce some of the top talent in the nation over the last several recruiting cycles. C4 Owner Sean Cooper was the first to drop the news of Jobe’s commitment to the Jayhawks.
Coming out of high school, Jobe held offers from over 30 programs, including Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Oklahoma, Texas, and Texas A&M, among several other recruiting powers.
Now, headed to Kansas, Jobe will be featured in a defense that is looking to change the narrative in Lawrence.
Jobe joins an impressive portal haul for the Jayhawks in 2024, which also includes former Michigan offensive lineman Amir Herring, who committed to KU last week.
Jobe and Herring rate as two of the best additions this cycle and should be feature assets for the Jayhawks along the lines of scrimmage over the next several seasons.
