Deion Sanders Praises Brett Yormark Ahead of Big 12 Move

NCAA Football: Colorado Spring Game

Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes are coming off a 4-8 season in the final year of the Pac-12 and will now make their move to the Big 12 in 2024. There’s not a team or coach in the country that has a higher demand on television, as the “Prime Effect” brings millions of viewers to every game that he walks the sidelines.

Adding the Buffs in 2024 will be a huge deal for the Big 12’s television ratings, and there’s no doubt that Brett Yormark took that into account when he started pursuing them as a member of the conference.

Their addition to the league will be beneficial for both sides, and while Sanders is sad to see the Pac-12 go, he is excited about moving into the Big 12, and working with Commissioner Yormark.

“So [the Pac-12] is a tremendous conference that I hate to see abandoned, whatever word is proper for what’s transpired,” Sanders said. “And I can’t wait to get to where we’re going. Because that commissioner [Brett Yormark] is a phenomenal human being, a phenomenal friend and I know what he’s going to bring to the table and I know what we’re going to bring to the table. I’m happy that Rick George made that happen tremendously.”

Coach Prime could have one heck of a playmaker at quarterback next season, as Sheduer Sanders could return to play for his father for another year, that is, if he should choose not to go to the NFL.

Behind the worst offensive line in the Power Five, Sanders threw for 3,230 yards, 27 touchdowns, three interceptions and a 69.3% completion percentage. If he were to have some protection and some semblance of a running game, there’s no telling how good Sheduer could be.

Selfishly, I hope the reports of his expected return are true, because if they are, Colorado will certainly be must-see TV, if it’s not already.
